Andrew Greig was a tenant of the Abbey Gardens Brewery from at least 1869. When the brewery was sold in 1875 he acquired the Albany Brewery from Elder and Hutchison and moved his business there.

Breweries and other buildings

The Albany Brewery was established by the partnership of Patrick Thomas Elder and David Hutchison, trading as Elder and Hutchison from at least 1874. It was offered for sale in 1898 following the deaths of Andrew and then his wife Isabella Greig, and the site eventually became part of the Albany Linen Works.
